Information on Data Processing

We inform you, pursuant to current personal data regulations under the EU Regulation 2016/679 (hereinafter referred to as "GDPR"), that the personal data provided during registration for the DotNews online newsletter available at http://www.dot-news.eu (hereinafter referred to as the "Service") will be collected and recorded by Dotslot S.r.l., a company engaged in information, communication, and training activities, headquartered at Viale dei Promontori n. 440 - 00122 Rome, as the data controller (hereinafter referred to as the "Controller" or "Dotslot"). These data will be stored on protected paper, electronic, and/or IT systems and processed in ways suitable to guarantee security and confidentiality, in compliance with GDPR provisions.

1. Types of Data

The Service offers informational and, at times, interactive content. During website navigation, the Company may process the following categories of personal data.

a) Navigation Data

The IT systems and software used for the functioning of the Service acquire, during their normal operation, some personal data whose transmission is implicit in the use of Internet communication protocols. This information is not collected to be associated with identified individuals but, due to its nature, could allow users of the Service to be identified through processing and association with data held by third parties. This results in Dotslot S.r.l. acquiring the following categories of personal data about users of the Service: name, surname, email address, the user's profession, data required for accounting and potential invoicing, as well as any other personal information voluntarily provided to the Controller during registration.

2. Purpose of Data Processing

The purposes of the data processing carried out by Dotslot S.r.l. are as follows:

A) To execute and manage the Service, allow the user to navigate the site and use the services provided, enable user registration to the Service and access it, and enjoy functionalities related to their account. Additionally, to provide the user with the newsletter service exclusively if explicitly requested.
B) With the user’s consent, the data may be used by Dotslot S.r.l. for promotional, advertising, and marketing purposes, including the sending of promotional material, information about products and services, and statistical analysis to gauge user satisfaction. The data may also be shared with other companies operating in sectors such as publishing, communication, consumer goods, finance, insurance, automotive, e-commerce, and humanitarian or charitable organizations for similar purposes.
C) To comply with legal obligations, regulations, or European legislation. Additionally, to manage complaints, disputes, and to enforce or defend legal rights.
D) With the user’s consent, for profiling activities and participation in market research.

3. Legal Basis of Processing

The legal basis for data processing is the user’s consent for the exclusive purposes of:

i) Verifying the user's identity (including email validation) to prevent possible fraud or abuse;
ii) Contacting the user for service-related reasons (e.g., receiving updates on Dotslot S.r.l.'s communication, information, and training initiatives);
iii) Allowing user participation in training events organized by Dotslot S.r.l. and its partners.

4. Data Processing Methods and Retention Period

The Controller will process user data using manual and IT tools, ensuring strict adherence to the purposes mentioned and guaranteeing data security and confidentiality.

5. Scope of Data Communication and Dissemination

Personal data of users (e.g., name, surname, email address, user profession) registered for the Service may be communicated to employees and/or collaborators of the Controller tasked with organizing and/or managing the Service. These individuals, formally appointed by the Controller under Article 29 of the Regulation, will process user data exclusively for the purposes outlined in this policy and in compliance with applicable regulations.

6. User Rights

Dotslot S.r.l. places great importance on privacy and data protection rights. Users can, at any time, exercise their rights under current personal data regulations, including accessing their personal data, verifying accuracy, requesting updates, rectification, deletion, or anonymization. Users can also object to data processing for legitimate reasons or specific processing methods. Users have the right to data portability and can lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

7. Additional Processing Purposes: Image Release

If a user is invited to participate in online events, live streams, or any in-person event involving audio-visual recordings, the user may freely grant the Controller permission to use their image and voice (“Image”) within the Content and Service. Users can authorize this usage through a release agreement (“Release”).

8. Updates to this Policy

This policy may be subject to changes and updates due to the applicability of GDPR and subsequent regulatory adjustments. Updates will be made available for users to review on the website.
